25 million British mothers at risk
November 21st, 2007 | by adrian |The British government admitted today that they had “lost” the details of some 25 million mothers. The details include names, addresses and (oh my lord) bank account details!
The details were held on two CD’s that seem to have gone missing in the post.
All mothers in the UK receive a government payout called child benefit and to cut down on distribution costs the government have been encouraging people to provide details so the money can be paid directly into a bank account of their choice.
They then put all those details together on a couple of disks and put them in the post? 25 million people having to change their bank accounts is going to be one big expensive headache.
